How to unfeel, to unmeet

Image
Do not feel too much attached Tis possible To untag yourself from their albums and feel no remorse Remove pictures from your gallery, and free up some space in your phone Mute them, unfriend them; not so cool. Unfollow, block them, Their contact information purge and still call them dolls And tell friends and family not to ask you about them and suffer no virtual loss at all. But how do you unfeel, how do you unmeet them? Am I a haunted house? An empty haunted house How do I unroll, those cool moments we rolled? Unball how we balled Unrock the many parties we rocked? So much to unfreeze, So many things to undo. Just before dawn, the night breeze Your hair thrown all over your face Moonlight seeping through swaying tree branches through Our window, your skin glinting Sound asleep on my chest How do I forget? How do I unfeel you? Haunted by memories that refused to leave with you I avoid the public park, Near the large pon

Friends and Grass

Image
We are like glue. Sticking Not to the sides of the bottle but How you gum signs on walls I got no clue Fixing Street wars bounty posters, Like ladies perm and wave Hairs absorbed in salon gossips. Heads, We here be rolling on the Ground, weaving grass pillows And knots. Had A friendship be as strong as a cord made of Twisted strands of good moments, Shared memories and chatter Ours be the warmth and laughter And the click for space in the camera gallery Or on Polaroid film-strips. My faves In the woods, Bushes and the plains are The ground, the sky above and Whatever fills the void In between. I got friends and grass, what more!

Just above our heads

Image
Walking in the open fields The sky is not far,  It is just above our heads. How we see it, we touch it with our eyes. Drifting clouds, Cool breezes hurtling Boughs swing and sway The sky is rundown It wears robes stitched with patches of gray and blue Overhead, It makes a good roof Fair weather. . #openfields   #sky   #clouds   #above   #heads   #see   #eyes #words   #comeout   #walk   #lookup   #fairweather   #weather #perspective   #nature   #goodvibes   #naturenerd   #arboreal  #writivism

Subdued by time

Image
The Great Orb breaks away from the sky when Subdued by time, Staining the horizon orangish To signal a new birth, Setting bushes on fire A new life Blaring cars rush the streets As residents dash for their abodes their faces sparkling In the nascent night Under the illumination of lights lining the town's streets Casting shadows of their fears and hopes for the day Silhouttes, walking,  swallowed by darkness When they clear off the municipal lights To their thresholds And the crickets will chirp the night away  under the wide of twinkling stars  till Daybreak. . . . #sun #sky #clouds #sunset #subduedbytime #orb #orange #golden #horizon #newbirth #nascent #newlife #crickets #chirp #silhouttes #fear #hope #darkness #twinkling #stars #writivism #lateralthoughts

Neon eyes

Image
The glistening neon. Your eyes, solid, teary, sheeny, cold, motionless, fixated on one elusive love saltating to the club music in a better company With a strong want and restraint, fuddling, Oblivious of your torments Eye, how do you handle loss? In a vat of vodka? . . . #neon #glistening #solid #motionless #teary #sheeny #neoneyes #elusive #love #paper #pencil #art #lateralthoughts #ineptsketcher

The rain

Image
The rain makes,  germinates, grows, spuds Our seeds, our food, our plants Roots, tubers and leaves. The rain blooms, breaks, carries, causes Flowers and hedges Our roofs, walls collapse and rumble Bridges submerge, we lose sight of ridges. The rain collects, cuts, drowns, drives At reservoirs, breaking dykes Mire, mucky, wrecking roads. The rain floods, generates, lights, powers Streets glimmer, trees falling on roads Industries run, homes warm. The rain pullulates, thrives, squelches, quenches. Ginger rhizomes, wheat fields lush The thirsty ground and souls soused. Tramples the flower, trend plants it helped grow and bloom, the rain. Thunder in the big forests slays wood, timber roasts by lightning. The rain, gives life,  kills. #words   #reflect   #reflection   # iLikewords   #abarrageofwords   # poetry   #raindrops   #seeds # germinate   #plants   #grow   # thrive   #flowers   #bloom #r

Jacaranda Love.

Image
Roses Bouquets and carnations Are too mainstream to express love on St. V alentine’s D ay . Be unconventional . This Valentine’s dedicate to your lover(s) , a Jacaranda tree in full blossom Etch their name on its bark , Make them feel that special Overawe them; name the empty paved-street after them Make them believe that you are, the only Jacaranda that litters their street With tiny little purple petals. This Valentine’s , let somebody enjoy its shade Walk somebody down the street, and show them the engravings Let them be street-owners , and rightfully feel so Let them think that they only , own the tree . Jacaranda love.

Don the Dweeb

Image
Friends I have. Here: Meet Don the Dweeb. Sitting in the cool shade of tall trees overlooking a filthy city river at some park clutching a book that has seen better days. Lorn, alone. His whole life has been immobile; characterized by affliction. His frame is rugged. His head is cracked. Bludgeoned his left to blindness. He can't afford a smile...it's too expensive. Naked. They sliced through his chest, grazed his arms; sawed-off his left leg and gashed the other.  Tis long since he had had a modest meal. He cannot drink even a pitcher of the flushing waters of the river yonder...sorry, they cast him in wood for eternity. They sculpted him in affliction. Humans are cruel, very. I wish he can talk. In a starry night in the middle of a city-that-never-sleeps, narrate his life journey. Thank his creator for giving him form and venerate to his gods (am not sure he has a religion yet) before humans incinerate him. The rain and wind cause rot i
